You are a slave to whatever you are most afraid to lose.

The miracles of Jesus point to what matters most.

O Rising Dawn, brightness of eternal light and sun of justice: come, and enlighten those sitting in darkness and the shadow of death.

O key of David, and scepter of the house of Israel, who opens and no one closes, who closes and no one opens: come, at lead from prison the bound one, sitting in darkness and the shadow of death.

O root of Jesse, who stand as an emblem of the peoples, over whom kings will hold back their mouth, whom the nations will implore: come to save us, now do not delay.

O Adonai, and Leader of the house of Israel, who appeared to Moses in the fire of a burning bush, and on Sinai gave him the law: come to redeem us with outstretched arm.

O Wisdom, who proceeded from the mouth of the Most High, touching from end to end, strongly and sweetly ordering all things: come to teach us the way of prudence.
